Getting to Giglio Island

By Car

From north, Pisa and Florence, drive to Grosseto. Take the bypass in the direction south (Rome) and follow the Via Aurelia till Albinia (around 34 km). Leave the motorway and follow the signs to Porto Santo Stefano (12 km).

From the south, Rome, take the Via Aurelia (till Civitavecchia motorway A12) to Orbetello, Leave the Via Aurelia and follow the signs to Porto Santo Stefano (12 km).

By Train

Trains to and from Rome or Pisa take approximately two hours. The train station is called Orbetello Scalo from where buses run to Porto Santo Stefano. More information you will find on the website of the Italian railway Trenitalia (also in English).

By Plane

The handiest airports for this stretch of Tuscan coast are Rome (Fiumicino or Ciampino) and Pisa (both around 150 to 200 km away from Giglio). Then by train or taxi to Porto Santo Stefano.
